A lifelong liberal democrat, who is currently impersonating an independent, David Ortega is no stranger to running for office and losing. He has proven himself willing to say or do anything in his multiple failed attempts to get elected.
Thankfully, voters haven't and won't buy into his BS.
Scottsdale needs a Mayor who is grounded in reality, not a jackass who makes exaggerations and bogus claims, and while he was on council he lined his own pockets working for developers. What's next on his liberal agenda? Making Scottsdale a sanctuary city or helping his developer pals build Section 8 low-income housing?
David claims that he “spearheaded efforts to bring the Southbridge 2 project to a public vote.”
The truth is when David was asked to volunteer at the referendum headquarters, he said he was too busy. However, he was not too busy to show up for a photo op when the petitions were turned in to the City Clerk.
David claims that he led the fight against the medical marijuana dispensary in downtown.
The truth is that David tried to have the group that actually fought the dispensary pay him to lobby for them. They finally paid him to go away.
David claims that his opponent is a zoning lawyer and developer.
The truth is that other than her helping her father rezone his property in Yavapai County, 115 miles from Scottsdale, he cannot cite any projects where she acted as a zoning lawyer or developer.
However, when David was on the City Council he had his business card printed on the backside of his City Council card, and represented developers before the city staff, boards, commissions and council and still represents developers today!
